Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bob Gann announced that he’s moving to Rifle. Here’s the e-mail that he sent:
____________________
Folks – you are getting this because we have interacted in some way related to my position as Fire Chief of Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department.
I wanted to let you know my tenure at RCVFD has come to an end. My wife and I will be moving to the Western Slope (Rifle) where I’ll be taking on a new position as Deputy Director of the Center of Excellence for Advanced Technology Aerial Fire Fighting.
This is a new initiative out of the Colorado Department of Fire Prevention and Control and I’m very excited to be a part of it. I start there Monday Oct. 19.
I’ve greatly enjoyed and valued my time at RCVFD and in the Fort Collins area and will certainly miss our interactions. However, I will be active in the fire service, so I hope to see many of you in the future.
As you know – RCVFD is a strong organization with great leadership and responders. I’m pleased to say the Capt. Carol Dollard has stepped up as chief for the rest of my term for 2015. Many of you know Carol as a capable officer and leader – the RCVFD could not be in better hands.
The e-mail [email protected] has moved to Carol – and she will be responding to any e-mails sent there – so no need to change e-mail addresses if you need to contact the RCVFD Chief.
Also – don’t be surprised when you hear a different voice responding to ‘Rist Canyon 1’ on the radio.
It has been a pleasure and privilege knowing and working with you!
If you get over to the Rifle area – I’d love to see you. My office is located at the Rifle airport.
Bob Gann
Fire Chief – RCVFD (Ret.)
