At its Nov. 13 meeting, the Wellington Town Board of Trustees selected Allan Winick to fill the vacancy left by Reggie Kemp’s resignation on Oct. 15. Winick was seated immediately and will serve until the next town election in April 2014.
In his resignation letter, Kemp praised the current trustees, but cited declining health of his wife and other obligations as precluding “the level of involvement appropriate to the Trustee position.”
The board received an application from former trustee Mishie Daknis as well as Winick by its Nov. 8 deadline.
Winick owns Groff Ag LLC, which employs seven people in manufacturing farm implements in Wellington. His goals as a trustee will be to help the town grow, become more business friendly and manage its budget more effectively, he said in his application.
