If you haven’t yet heard of Amy and the Peace Pipes, don’t feel left out. The Fort Collins-based quartet formally came together only last year, but have been cranking out original music left and right since then, gaining a good amount of local exposure along the way. The self-titled debut EP was released in September, accompanied by a number of release shows and acoustic performances. Amy Russell leads the Peace Pipes (Rob Price, Chad Wickham, Jeromey Balderrama) with her vocally- and piano-driven alternative rock. The lyrics are often personal and are seemingly always accompanied with a message of optimism (listen to “Second Chances”). Be on the lookout for Amy and the Peace Pipes for some local shows, including some Amy and Rob acoustic performances.
