By now you’ve noticed the pianos around town and the electrical transformer cabinets and have probably stopped to look at the artwork on them. This is all a part of how Fort Collins shows off it’s talents – and helps to eliminate unwanted graffiti. As a new part of the “Art in Public Places” initiative which has been around for several years, “Art in the Alleys” makes the road less traveled look better than it ever has. In part to combat a growing graffiti problem, Fort Collins Utilities and the City of Fort Collins have collaborated to further develop the program to include this new project. There are currently 21 transformer cabinets painted. Think you can find them all in downtown without any help? Have at it. Or you can go to downtownfortcollins.com/dba.php/art and download a map of where they’re located.
