Blue Star Connection is a non-profit organization which provides access and ownership of musical instruments to medically-fragile kids and young adults facing tough life challenges. Blue Star advocate Renee Shaw, has organized a benefit concert, gear drive and community event at the Blind Pig (214 Linden St.) on November 14 at 7p.m. “With Fort Collins now being known as a music hub, what better community to share the gift of our musicians and the healing power of music with the BlueStar Connection kids,” says Shaw. The musical lineup, including the newly formed all-star group The Young Ancients, The Robert Wilson Blues Band, and the all-girl rock band Chaotic Serenity will provide entertainment for the event, as well as special guests from The Youth Leadership Music Project. Visit bluestarconnection.org for more information about the organization and involving kids to give back and lead by example.
