There isn’t much better than a good, down home Americana song and Chris Daniels’ Better Days is full of them. It is catchy and easy to listen to, full of songs about the open roads, wild nights, growing up, having fun and falling in love. Through each song he mixes it up by throwing in female back up vocals, a choir and “down at the bayou” type sounds. On top of that he has entertaining songs like “Medical Marajuana” to take you higher and songs that call people out for their crazy ways like “Therapy”. If you think you miss the meaning of the songs, there is an elaborate booklet that describes the inspiration behind each one. It’s almost worth it to go out and buy the CD just to read it. Overall, it is something worth checking out and listening to.
