Long-time Fort Collins resident Joann Ginal announced her candidacy to represent State House District 52. She will seek the Democratic nomination for the November 2012 ballot.
Ginal has worked in the biological and medical fields for more than 20 years as a teacher, researcher and most recently as a medical science liaison in medical affairs. Ginal earned a Ph.D. in Reproductive Endocrinology from Colorado State University in 1997. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters degree in Zoology from Iowa State University.
“I believe that a college education should be accessible for all Coloradans,” said Ginal, “and strong support for education is critical if we are going to rebuild an economy where every Coloradan has the opportunity to succeed.”
Current HD-52 Rep. John Kefalas is seeking the Senate District 14 seat, in which current State Senator Bob Bacon is term-limited.
