Representatives Randy Fischer (D-Fort Collins) and John Kefalas (D-Fort Collins) and Senator Bob Bacon (D-Fort Collins) will host a community forum entitled “Addressing Diabetes and Obesity in Northern Colorado” on Oct. 22 starting at 10 a.m. at the Harmony Library, 4616 Shields Street in Fort Collins.
Reps. Fischer and Kefalas will moderate the discussion. A panel of local experts, including Dr. Ian Brickl of the Salud Fort Collins Clinic, will discuss wellness, prevention, medicine, nutrition, and health policy and will present information about the human impacts of diabetes and obesity in our communities.
Panel members will also address the interconnection between diabetes and obesity and their contributions to rising healthcare costs. There will also be discussion about efforts in Larimer County and statewide to address these diseases with innovative, proactive strategies.
