High Park Fire disaster relief station set up in Bellvue

Members of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Bellvue have set up an extensive disaster relief station in and around their church close to the mouth of Rist Canyon.

A semi trailer full of relief supplies arrived from the Tennessee Church of Christ Disaster Relief organization on June 15.

An extensive stock of relief kits are available for victims of the High park Fire including baby care kits, personal care kits, cleaning kits and food. Recipients are not limited to residents of Rist Canyon — any family that has lost a home or has been relocated by the fire is eligible for the supplies.

The Pleasant Valley group had helped 80 families as of June 18 and expects to be distributing supplies through June 24.

The church is located at at 5220 Rist Canyon Road, just across form the Post Office. Hours of operation for the relief center are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call 970-491-9936.
