JAX Outdoor Gear, Ranch & Home in Loveland and the Loveland Public Library are hosting a full day event on Nov. 7 at two locations to showcase local authors.
“We are often approached by local authors wanting to share their work through presentations and signing events,” commented Marcia Lewis, director of the Loveland Public Library. “As passionate advocates for literacy and lifelong learning we are excited to partner with JAX in hosting our first annual author event.”
World famous local author Avi will also be present at the library and will be signing copies of his latest book.
“We are extremely fortunate and excited to have Avi at our first annual event,” said Lewis, “Avi has written more than seventy books for children and young adults, including 2003 Newberry Medal winner Crispin: The Cross of Lead.” Avi has also won two Newberry Honors and many other awards for his fiction.
Over 100 authors of books including children’s stories, teen fiction, science fiction, mysteries, history, and outdoor activities will be available at the two locations to chat with the public about their work and to sell and sign copies of their books.
From 11 a.m. to p.m. at the JAX Outdoor Gear, Ranch & Home location (at 950 E. Eisenhower, Loveland), you can meet a wide range of authors with books on a dizzying array of subjects. In addition to a great variety of books on outdoor activities, from snow shoeing to horse-packing, hiking to dog-training, you will also find books on Colorado ghost towns, vineyards, painting, photography, campfire songs, changing careers, even poetry and historical fiction. Several children’s book authors will be featured also.
From 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the Loveland Public Library (located at 300 N. Adams) you can purchase lunch from local food trucks in the parking lot. The author showcase at the library will be open from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. with Avi signing books from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to visit with many talented local authors, purchase books, and get books signed for great holiday gifts. Please be sure to stop by both locations to support Northern Colorado’s amazing authors and your local library!
