Larimer County Democrats: Precinct caucuses are March 4

The 2014 list of Larimer County Democratic precinct caucus sites now is available online at www.larimerdems.org. Democratic caucuses will be held on March 4. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and caucus meetings will begin promptly at 7 p.m.

All Democrats are encouraged to participate in their precinct caucus.

“Caucus is a great way to meet your neighbors and your local Democratic candidates,” said William Russell, Larimer County Democrats Chairman. “Caucus is the kickoff to the election season. I encourage all Democrats in Larimer County to join their neighbors at caucus to support our candidates up and down the ticket, from U.S. Sen. Mark Udall to county commissioner candidate Kathy Gilliland.”

Voters can look up their precinct number at the Larimer County Clerk and Recorder’s website: www.Larimer.org/Elections (click on “Am I Registered?”) prior to caucus.

A person may vote at the precinct caucus, be elected a delegate or an alternate from the caucus and/or be elected as a precinct committee person if they have been:
• A resident in the precinct for at least 30 days, and
• Registered to vote in the precinct for at least 29 days and
• A registered Democrat for not less than two months prior to the date of the caucus

Precinct caucuses are the first step in the Democrats’ caucus/primary process. Delegates to the Larimer County Democrats Convention and Assembly are elected at caucus, and each precinct elects two precinct committee people.

The Larimer County Democrats Assembly will be held March 29 at Fossil Ridge High School, 5400 Ziegler Road in Fort Collins. Sign-in for the Assembly will begin at 8 a.m.
