Larimer County donates minivan to The Lift of Northern Colorado

The Lift of Northern Colorado is now closer to up and running, thanks to a used minivan donation from Larimer County.

Larimer County originally operated The Larimer Lift, a transportation service to assist the elderly living in the unincorporated areas of the county get to medical appointments. Once that service was no longer up and running, the 2007 Chevrolet Uplander minivan remained — as did the need for transportation by seniors.

A new 501(c)(3) non-profit, The Lift of Northern Colorado was subsequently formed to fill the void.

“Larimer County had the unneeded minivan that would need to be disposed of so it made sense to donated it to The Lift of Northern Colorado to assist in providing this valuable service,” said Linda Hoffmann, Larimer County Manager.

The Lift of Northern Colorado also has a community-funded project at communityfunded.com, where people can go to support and learn about the program. Lift of Northern Colorado Executive Director Heather Pilkington can be reached at 970-402-4401 or foralift.org.
