Larimer County Fair features races for pigs, goats, wiener dogs and chuckwagons

This year, in conjunction with celebrating 10 years at the Ranch, the Larimer County Fair will feature brand new entertainment for all ages. Woody’s Wildlife Show, Barnyard Races and the Dog & Pony Variety Show are the newest additions to the fair schedule, and will be sure to show the wild side of the Larimer County Fair.

Woody’s Wildlife show will amaze you featuring animals from various parts of the world. Woody’s Wildlife show’s main goal is to educate the public on animal characteristics from one species to another, and to promote safety for the animals and the public. Woody’s prides themselves on providing a wide variety of animals for the exhibit.

Woody’s Barnyard Races will have everyone laughing and sticking around for more. The Barnyard Races consist of three different heats. The first heat consists of the racing swine, the second heat of racing goats and, last but not least, the racing dachshund dogs. Woody’s has creatively named the dachshunds, “Oscar Mayer”, “Chicago Style Dog”, “Hot Dog” and, everyone’s favorite kind of dog, “Corn Dog.”

The Dog & Pony Variety Show is a fun family variety show filled with equine and canine acts with western flair. Experience fast and furious chuckwagon races, the famous slides and spins of Freestyle Reining performances, and dog acts that will make you say bow-wow. The performance is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 at 7 p.m. at the Ranch-Way Feeds Indoor Arena. Tickets will be on sale at 5:30 p.m. in the Ranch-Way Feeds Indoor Arena foyer day of, and doors open for the show at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for kids (2-12), $10 for 13 & older, and $25 Family Four Packs.

The 2013 Larimer County Fair and PRCA Rodeo runs from August 2 – 6 at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland. Events at this year’s Fair include Gnarly Barley Brew Festival on Saturday, August 3, The Dog and Pony Variety Show Saturday, August 3, PRCA Rodeo: August 4-6, Fireworks: August 2&3 and much more.
