Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith has removed the Poudre River partial-use restriction that he imposed on June 10. The restriction prohibited the use of inner tubes, air mattresses and single-chambered rafts. City of Fort Collins Parks and Natural Areas have also lifted their river access closure, effective Tuesday, July 19.
The Sheriff warned that the river will continue running high for some time. Recreationists are urged to use extreme caution and to be sure to have all the necessary safety equipment when using the river. Caution is also urged near the river as the fast flowing water has made the riverbanks very unstable.
