Letter: A message of thanks from the Silhasek family

Editor’s note: James Silhasek, 13, was hit by a car while riding his bike on County Road 54G near Vern’s Restaurant on Nov. 13.

To our family: The Silhaseks have always been there for each other, so it is no surprise, but we couldn’t have made it without you. Thank you.

To the staff, parents and students at Cache la Poudre Middle School: I believe all the get-well cards and visits by the students got James through the first few weeks. The generous donations by staff and parents were overwhelming. I had always bragged that CLP was more a community than a school and it couldn’t have been truer. Thank you.

To the wrestling team: Once again the posters, get-well cards and donations were key to us getting through this ordeal. Thank you. You guys rock!

To my co-workers: The emotional support and donations were especially meaningful to me. Thank you.

To the paramedics at the scene and staff at both hospitals: We are blessed to be living in an area with such top-notch health-care professionals. Thank you.

To Peloton Bikes for the donation of a bicycle and Mr. Caddoo for helping make this happen: Thank you.

To the “Killer B’s” and to Susan Manning: Thank you for everything.

I am sorry I did not thank everyone personally. Please believe that we appreciate you tremendously. If any of you need anything from me, please ask.

It has been several weeks since the accident; James is getting around pretty good, looking forward to school and is already riding his bike a little.

I thank the Lord daily for his speedy recovery and for all of you. We couldn’t have made it without you!

Thank you all so much! Happy 2012!

Daniel James Silhasek
