Local businesses encouraged to help beautify downtown

Wellington Colorado Main Street Program is accepting sponsorship applications for Downtown Beautification Project 2015, an initiative to spruce up downtown Wellington.

The projects planned for this summer include the installation of colorful flowerpots with “thrillers, spillers and fillers” and distinctive banners to call attention to Wellington’s downtown area from Interstate 25. The hope is to have these two projects completed and installed by Memorial Day. The projects are part of the overall master plan of the Wellington Main Street Design Committee.

There are three levels of sponsorship:

Level 1: Green for Green, $60. One flowerpot filled with flowers to be maintained for the coming season. Sponsors will be acknowledged at a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony and will be mentioned on the WCMSP website and in the local newspaper.

Level 2: Bucks for Banners, $195. Colorful banners for three seasons for one light pole, including brackets. Same recognition as level one and also a hanging business banner below the sponsored banner to remain for the life of the banner.

Level 3: Pay for Planters, $375. Permanent planter, soil with flowers to be maintained during the growing season. Sponsor will have a plaque with business name permanently on the planter, as well as the recognition mentioned above.

Call WCMSP at 970-568-1985 to become part of the effort to make downtown Wellington more beautiful.
