Lory State Park is hosting a Dec. 14 open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. that will feature activities, refreshments and fun. Parks mascot Talon will greet and take pictures with the youngsters from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Friends of Lory, sponsor of the event, are offering a drawing to win a free annual parks pass (valued at $70).
Additional activities include:
• Making a winter treat for the birds between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. (supplies provided)
• Children’s story times at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
• Shopping for apparel, hiking sticks, books/maps and plush animals at the Lory Visitor Center.
The Holiday Open House at the Visitor Center is free, however a valid annual or day pass is required to enter the park.
Hit the trail at Lory State Park and enjoy mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding amid some fabulous foothills scenery just minutes from Fort Collins and adjacent to Horsetooth Reservoir.
