New signs to welcome visitors to Wellington

Brand new entryway signs for the town of Wellington are under construction and will be in place by the end of the year or shortly after, Main Street executive director Wendy DuBord said. Designed by Joshua Griffiths of Dynamic Image in Wellington, the first sign will be placed at the east entrance of town near the Interstate 25 exit. The sign on the west side of town will be installed soon after.

The signs will incorporate the black metal “seals” showing a stagecoach that were fabricated and donated by Allan Winick, owner of Groff Ag in Wellington. Mixing the new sign with the old sign makes for fresh new look with a recognizable carryover from the past.

“We’re happy about the signs,” DuBord said. “The trustees have approved the funds and the volunteer design committee is pleased with the results of their work. We look forward to seeing them installed.”
