Update from Roxann R. Hall, Principal:
CLPE Parents:
I hope you are doing well and recovering from any impacts your family has experienced due to the flooding.
I wanted to update you on the status of CLPE.
First, the flooding damage in the southwest corner of the building was minimal. Seven classrooms and four other learning areas were impacted with roughly 1-3” of water. PSD crews have been working around the clock to address water damage.
As of Sept. 16, the school has been cleaned thoroughly and sanitized and is considered safe for students and staff. However, impacted rooms will undergo extensive renovations in the next few months as part of the district’s flood recovery efforts.
Staff spent the morning moving essential items from the impacted classrooms to new temporary classroom locations. However, to give staff additional time to appropriately prepare classrooms for students and high quality learning, CLPE will be closed Tuesday, September 17. School will resume as usual Wednesday morning.
I am currently planning to host a parent meeting tomorrow, Tuesday night, so you can see the new classroom spaces as well as hear PSD’s plan for recovery first hand. We will first meet in the CLPMS New Gym at 6 p.m. where you will also be able to ask questions about the new spaces and our plans for the future at that time. Tours of CLPE’s newly purposed rooms will be available at the close of our meeting.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all deal with this unfortunate situation.
Fires. Floods. Nothing keeps CLPE down! Our ship sails on.
Sincerely,
Roxann R. Hall
Principal, Cache La Poudre Elementary
