Wellington Seniors update for January 2014

by Verna Tromberg

Wow! 2014. I hope everyone had a joyful holiday season.

Jan. 3, SALT meeting, 10 a.m.
Jan. 6, We’ll play cards after lunch
Jan. 8, Free blood pressure readings.
Jan. 31, Bingo following lunch.

We would like to thank the city of Wellington, the library, Trudy Patterson, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Even though it was bitter cold, the tree lighting was wonderful. All the children had that magical twinkle in their eyes.

We were blessed to enjoy the performance of the children from a dance class. Also thanks to Linda Knaack, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Bill and Carol Worden for their generous grant.

Our Christmas craft fair was wonderful. We had some really nice vendors and shoppers and hope they return next year.

We serve lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. For reservations call Volunteers of America the day before by 1 p.m. at 970-472-9630 or call Trudy at 970-817-2293 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for information on other activities.
