Off Beat Revolution – All Around

By Colleen Hunt
With a funky ska and reggae background, Off Beat Revolution is toe tapping good beats. With the lyrics like why do people focus on the negative things when there’s positive all around, it’s clear why this easy listening group has played with bands like 40 oz to Freedom, Ballyhoo and The Supervillians. According to the bands website, they originally formed in 2007 comprised of Nick Pauly, (vocals/guitar) Alex Goldberg (bass) and Robbie Austin (drums). In September of 2010 saxophone player Shannon Bolenbaugh joined the band solidifying the roots music sound.  “Our sounds is heavily influenced through jazz since we all played in jazz group in band growing up. Add the horn feel to it and you get a combination of Bob Marley and jazz,” said Pauly. “The conscious social message of reggae is a real draw for why we enjoy our music too.” By being only nineteen years old Off Beat Revoution is booked all over Colorado in bars like the Buffalo Rose in Golden Colorado and The Tugboat in Steamboat Springs only being able to sip on soda at set break. Keep an eye out for these up-and-comers in the industry. They are sure to go far!
