The Atmosphere Conservancy launched the FortZED Community Energy Challenge at last year’s Sustainable Living Fair. Now, they will present ZEDfest – a day of gatherings to celebrate our community’s commitment to energy conservation – on Friday, May 20. The event will take place at dozens of homes within the city to “engage homeowners in taking simple steps to reduce home energy consumption.” The mission of FortZED is to transform this district, which includes Old Town, CSU, and about 6,200 homes, into one of the world’s largest Zero Energy Districts through conservation, efficiency, renewable energy sources and smart grid technologies.
