Crown Point Road (FSR 139) will close to vehicle traffic west of the Brown’s Lake Trailhead starting Sept. 1 through October while two culverts are replaced along the road. These new culverts will improve fish passage along Sheep Creek.
The Browns Lake Trailhead remains open but everything past the trailhead will be inaccessible by vehicle, including the Zimmerman Trailhead until the project is completed. Parking at the Browns Lake Trailhead will be limited.
Information on the status of other roads is available on the Canyon Lakes Roads Status website at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/arp/roads.
It is important for folks to make safety your top priority when heading into the forest. Remember your safety is your responsibility. Live and dead trees can fall without warning, especially with the abundance of saturated soil throughout the forest. Be sure to know weather conditions before heading out.
