Red Feather Lakes Community Library update for Jan., 2013

Welcome to your library — a new year ahead with new opportunities for us to serve you.

First, we’d like to congratulate our Special Friends of the Library for 2012 — Jeanette Heath and Susie Trabant — individuals whose efforts in behalf of the library and the community have made a difference over the past year (and several years). Jeanette has served as a volunteer the last 15 or 16 months in directly assisting customers at the circulation desk, shelving, making copies, computer assistance and other important activities that make the library go.

Susie has served with the Friends of the Library for several years, including nearly the past three years as president. Many of the features and services you find in visiting the library — from the circulation machines, new DVD spinner, children’s tablet, enhanced summer programming for children and adults, as well as significant funding contributions to books and other materials purchased by the library — are through fund-raising activities conducted by the Friends. Susie has been at the forefront of these projects.

Secondly, we’d like to thank as our Board of Trustees for originating, planning and then working with the Friends through the recent very successful silent auction at the Red Feather Greening Festival.

A successful library — and we define success as the level that we are able to meet your interests and needs — is the result of effort by a great many people, including the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers, the Friends of the Library and you as library users and supporters of the principle of the free public library.
