From just a few miles south, we are met yet again with innovation from Denver’s ever-growing plethora of musicians. Red Fox Run’s third release reflects on the maturity gained after years of playing together at everything from festivals to house parties. The production is clean, though the self-titled album still holds the grit that often accompanies authenticity. It is rock and roll in the indiest of senses. However, the accessibility of Red Fox Run still holds true, creating an indie-pop rock hybrid baby, capable of holding the attention and appreciation of many. “I Am a Fox” encompasses the legitimacy of the group itself, the lyrics “I am a fox I need to run,” acting as a catalyst for an underlying energy that pervades each album and each live show. Catch Red Fox Run this summer at a string of shows in the Mile High City or along the Front Range, including a June 6 show at the Mish.
