Roadwork on Owl Canyon corridor begins this month

Larimer County is set to begin construction of a new roadway for County Road 19 between County Roads 70 and 72. The work will occur in several phases beginning in April and lasting into the fall. Some road closures will occur as various sections of the roadway are built. Details about the closures will be provided once available.

Larimer County completed and adopted the Owl Canyon Corridor Project in 2008 which identified a road alignment and necessary improvements to road surfacing, function and safety for an eventual paved two-lane county roadway in the Owl Canyon Corridor. The project was done to address existing maintenance, function, air quality and safety concerns in the corridor and was completed with substantial public input and elected official support.

Since completion of the planning project, the county’s engineering department has begun working on the corridor in phases, including spot safety improvements and the design of a new roadway for CR 19 between CR 70 and CR 72.
