Rockie Mountain Saddle Club, a non-profit horse group serving youth ages 2 to 18, celebrated ts 2014 show season, April through September, at a year-end banquet and awards ceremon.
The club hosted eight shows at the McGraw Arena north of Wellington, featuring competition in English, Western and Gymkhana events. High-point awards were given to the following:
In walk-trot English, Estela Price-Foster; English level 1, Isabella Wismar; English level 2, Chris Moore; and English level 3, Trisha Swift.
Western walk-trot, Stephanie Leonard; Western level 1, Tyler Kraft; Western level 2, Kyli Kraft; and Western level 3, Sandy Schleiffelers.
Gymkhana lead line, Taylor DeGroot; gymkhana 6 and under, Austin DeGroot; 7-10, Ty Reeves; 11-13, Raelynn Marshall; 14-18, Kendall Kelley; and 19 and over Lindsey Richardson.
The all-volunteer organization, supported by committed sponsors, offers affordable learning experiences with horses for individuals and families with a focus on safety, sportsmanship, community involvement and fun.
All youth riders received a participation award at the banquet for their participation in the summer-long competition.
