Schrader Country Store robbery suspects nabbed in Wellington

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Jeffrey Alonzo Varos and Christopher Glen Agnew as suspects in the Dec. 4 robbery of the Schrader Country Store in Wellington.

The arrest of Jeffrey Varos occurred after investigators and the Larimer County SWAT team executed a search warrant of a residence in the 3700 block of Henderson Avenue on Dec. 12. Wellington Middle School was placed on a modified lockout during the incident. Varos was arrested for aggravated robbery, a class 3 felony and theft, a class 3 misdemeanor. He is being held at the Larimer County Jail with a $25,000 bond.

Christopher Agnew was arrested Dec 17 on a Wellington street. He faces charges of aggravated robbery, a class 3 felony, and theft, a class 3 misdemeanor. He was also booked on two unrelated warrants for failure to appear in court on previous charges of theft and DUI. He is being held at the Larimer County Jail with a total of $25,393 in bonds.

The two men are alleged to have entered the convenience store. Police say one of the men pointed a handgun at the clerk while the other gave the clerk instructions. The suspects ran off with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured.
