When harvest time arrives, a farmer’s life gets hectic. Sometimes it’s difficult to get the grain harvested in time for maximum yield and returns. That is especially true if the farmer relies on a neighbor or out-of-state group to do the harvesting, and the farmer must wait.
That’s where WyoComp comes in. This custom harvesting company, based in Wellington, specializes in small grains like wheat, corn and barley. They proudly serve Colorado farmers on the Front Range from Wellington to Mead, and on the plains from Nunn to Platteville.
Heath Van Eaton, WyoComp’s owner, grew up in a Kansas farm family and has more than 30 years of experience with farm equipment and production.
Heath commented that a local harvesting company offers several advantages to farmers. “We can respond quickly to farmers’ needs, because we are here and ready when the grain needs to be harvested,” he said. “We can also meet with farmers any time of year to discuss their needs and plan for the harvest. You can’t beat a one-on-one relationship. Farmers especially appreciate our rates and the quality service we provide.”
WyoComp has an agri-business and research side as well, using agricultural byproducts such as straw for biocomposites and biochemicals technology development.
Heath, his wife Amy and their children live in Wellington. For more information about WyoComp, contact Heath at 970-682-9600.
