Resurrection comes out of the gate slithering with Snake—stealthily yet aggressive, driven by intense strings and Alana Rolfe’s sultry voice. You Win is victorious with its quirky techno-like, catchy rhythm and in-your-face-likeAni-DiFranco lyrics. “Now you’re covered in shit from the ocean of lies you’ve been swimming in…but you don’t care just as long as you win.” Ouija is kind of hard to get through unless you’re feeling a bit delirious, or if you’re not, you will be by the end. Je n’ai rien, which means I didn’t do anything or I haven’t done anything or I’ve been doing nothing I shouldn’t (okay, you try and translate it!) is a sweltering tune you’re like to hear in the background of a horror flick while some chick is doing a strip tease for an old guy in a late-night café at a truck stop before she chops his head off. Actually any song on this album would be appropriate for that scene. That’s just how uniquely, dramatic and tripped out the songs are. Devilishly beautiful!
