The Sustainable Living Association is proud to announce the 8th Annual Tour de Coop on Sunday, May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Fort Collins. This is an opportunity for area residents to visit local backyard chicken coops by participating in a six- to eight-mile leisurely bike ride in and around Fort Collins.
Tour de Coop participants will visit a variety of urban backyard chicken coops and learn about chickens from experienced backyard chicken owners. Tour de Coop highlights important elements of sustainable communities and our local food system. Other educational topics during the tour will include how to raise ducks, a comparison of nutrients between chickens and ducks, and learning about the City of Fort Collins’ municipal codes pertaining to urban agriculture.
