Student Arrested for Weapons Offenses

On December 12, 2017 Fort Collins Police responded to Front Range Community College at 4616 S. Shields St., in Fort Collins after Brittany Schoonover (DOB 07/29/91), a student, had an interaction with a faculty member outside of a classroom. During the interaction, Ms. Schoonover displayed a gun. The faculty member was able disarm Ms. Schoonover. There were no injuries to either party, and there is no ongoing threat to the campus or the community.

The suspect was arrested on the following charges:

18-3-206 Felony Menacing, a class 5 Felony.

18-12-105.5 Possession of a weapon on property of an educational facility, a class 6 Felony.

18-9-909 Interference of an Educational Facility, a class 1 misdemeanor.

18-3-303 False Imprisonment, a class 2 misdemeanor.

Ms. Schoonover was booked into the Larimer County jail without incident. A booking photo is attached courtesy of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
