Anyone under the age of 18 can ride Fort Collins Transfort buses throughout the city free of charge, thanks to an annual grant from the Bohemian Foundation. But beginning Oct. 1, those between 12 and 18 will be asked to show proof of age when boarding.
Proof of age can be:
• A valid student ID from any elementary, middle or high school showing current school year and enrollment; or
• A valid, state-issued Colorado Identification Card or Drivers License; or
• A free Transfort-issued Youth Bus Pass.
Poudre School District IDs will be accepted.
Applications for youth bus passes are available at the Transit Centers downtown and on the Colorado State University campus. Proof of age, such as a birth certificate, passport or other legal form of identification, is required to obtain a bus pass.
Youth 11 and under may receive a free bus pass with permission from a legal guardian and proof of age. Anyone under the age of 12 rides Tranfort free without proof of age when accompanied by a fare-paying legal guardian.
