The Board of Larimer County Commissioners on May 7 named Angela Myers as the new Larimer County Clerk & Recorder. Myers has been serving as Acting Deputy Clerk since Scott Doyle’s retirement last week. Myers has been with the Clerk’s Office for nearly ten years, and until today as Business Operations Coordinator/Chief Deputy. She will lead an office of 80 employees who provide services in managing elections, recording public documents, and processing motor vehicle registrations.
Myers will be officially sworn-in to office on May 10, at the Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building.
“Angela Myers is uniquely qualified to step into this important office immediately and continue a high level of customer service, integrity of elections, and accuracy of recording, said Board Chair Steve Johnson. “We were fortunate to have five well qualified applicants, but with Angela’s 10 years experience in all aspects of this office, we felt she would provide the best transition for our citizens.”
Before working at Larimer County, Myers’ experience was diverse. She was a small business owner, spent a short time providing clerk services for local law enforcement and otherwise worked directly with executive managers in various areas of business, from public affairs to engineering. She has worked collaboratively with many Larimer County departments during her years in the Larimer County Clerk and Recorder’s Office. Myers lives in Fort Collins with her husband of 28 years.
Myers’ salary is set by State statute at $87,300 per year. Counties follow State statutes in replacing elected positions. Once the application process was closed, applications were screened and finalists were interviewed. The Board was assisted in the interview process by the Executive Director of the Colorado County Clerk’s Association and former Colorado Secretary of State, Donetta Davidson.
