In addition to helping businesses, ranches and farms reduce electricity consumption, Poudre Valley REA also offers rebates and other incentives to members to help offset the cost of upgrading equipment to conserve electricity.
One such program helps fund the replacement of old electric motors with newer more efficient models and another for Variable Speed Drives on existing equipment such as irrigation wells and industrial machinery. Rebates of 50 percent for VSD retrofits up to $6,800 are available for qualifying projects.
There are other programs available to help commercial enterprises in their efforts to save energy. Commercial audits and lighting rebates are available as well as other opportunities to reduce costs through energy conservation. Incentives of up to $20,000 are possible for some commercial lighting retrofits.
