Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will help turbocharge ColoradoGives.org

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will join forces with Community First Foundation of Denver to increase online giving in Larimer County through ColoradoGives.org.

ColoradoGives.org is an online giving resource launched by Community First Foundation in 2007. Raising more than $53 million in donations in five years, the site provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about local charities and an easy way to support them online. It currently features more than 1,200 Colorado nonprofits and is the platform for Colorado Gives Day.

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will help develop custom pages and search features on ColoradoGives.org specifically designed to engage nonprofits and donors in Larimer County communities. The foundation will also help train local nonprofits on how to employ online fundraising methods successfully, and promote ColoradoGives and Colorado Gives Day through local media, special events and sponsorships.

“The opportunity to partner with the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is an exciting one,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “Their local knowledge, coupled with our experience in online giving, is a powerful combination that elevates our message, “Give where you live,” to a new level.”

“We see this as an opportunity to expand charitable giving in our region, particularly as it relates to younger donors,” said Ray Caraway, president of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. “Community First Foundation has done this with great success in the Denver Metro area, and our goal is to see a much higher level of participation here in Northern Colorado.”

This and other regional partnerships to advance online giving have been made possible by a $150,000 grant to Community First Foundation from the Boettcher Foundation, based in Denver, and El Pomar Foundation, based in Colorado Springs. The grant was made in honor of their 75th anniversaries to help expand Colorado Gives Day throughout the state and make it easier for nonprofits outside Denver to use ColoradoGives.org to accept donations online.
