Drs. Wayne and Tracey Jensen are pleased to announce the opening of the Wellington Dog Park. The park, which is fully fenced with an airlock entrance, is located just south of the Wellington Veterinary Clinic.
Unlike other dog parks, the Wellington Dog Park is a “members only” park. To keep member dogs safe from contagious diseases, owners must present written proof of current vaccinations (rabies, DA2PPV, bordetella and Leptosporosis) and regular deworming (with Interceptor, Drontal or the equivalent) when filling out the application. Memberships are renewed annually on June 1.
Membership is free, but each dog must wear a member’s tag. The tag costs $10 and may be purchased at the Wellington Veterinary Clinic.
“The community of Wellington has been wonderful to work with for the 12 years that we have been in practice here,” said Dr. Tracey Jensen. “Offering our clients and patients an off-leash play area for dogs is something we are very excited to be able to do. Not only is it a gift from us to the community of Wellington, but it is also a healthy way for dogs to have social interaction with other dogs and get some good exercise.”
For more information about the dog park, contact the Wellington Veterinary Clinic at 568-PETS(7387). The Wellington Veterinary Clinic also offers full service veterinary care, boarding, dog day care and grooming. Stop by anytime for a tour.
