The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce awarded Don Brown as Volunteer of the Year at its annual dinner Oct. 11 at the Fort Collins Country Club.
In March 2012, Don Brown started the Save Our Store (SOS) program when Wellington’s Main Street Market was about to close. The store re-opened in July — with new owners.
“Having a local grocery store is an important asset to our town and we are now very grateful to have Bella’s Market be a part of Wellington’s growth. Brown kept Wellington up-to-date on the status of Wellington’s grocery store via the SOS Facebook page,” the chamber said in its November newsletter to chamber members. “The additional efforts made by SOS team was greatly appreciated by Wellington.”
Finish Line Awards received the Business of the Year award.
