Flood causes Baja Broadband outage in Northern Colorado

Baja Broadband reports that telephone, internet, and some television service to parts of Northern Colorado were interrupted when flooding destroyed a bridge where State Hiway 257 crosses Big Thompson River drainage at Milliken near the Mad Russian subdivision. Poles were downed and a fiber optic cable torn. Continued flooding in the area continues to make the damaged line inaccessible.

Service areas impacted include Woodland Park, Arvada, Estes Park, Fort Collins, and Wellington. Most areas lost internet and telephone service, but Estes Park also lost television service. As of September 16, BAJA provided no estimate for when repairs would be completed.
