Health Care for All Colorado will host a free showing of the documentary “U.S. Health Care: The Good News” on Monday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m. at Bas Bleu Theatre, 401 Pine St. in Fort Collins.
In the film, Washington Post correspondent T.R. Reid documents communities across the United States – including Grand Junction, Colo. – that have successfully improved the quality of health care while covering more people and reducing costs. Using his trademark good humor and thorough research, Reid explains how this was accomplished and how other communities could learn from these examples.
Reid previously produced “Sick Around the World.”
The event will include popcorn, lemonade and a discussion following the film. In addition, two Colorado proposals will be explained that could bring “good news” for Coloradans: the Healthy Colorado Public Insurance Plan and the Colorado Health Care Cooperative. The latter plan was sponsored by State Sen. Irene Aguilar in a past legislative session.
Everyone is welcome to attend the film showing. For more information, contact Cherry Sokoloski at 970-231-6718 or [email protected].
