Preserving tomatoes
Learn how to safely preserve tomatoes to enjoy all year long. This workshop provides an overview of all three methods of preserving tomatoes: canning, freezing and dehydrating. Fee: $20

Viva salsa!
Salsa is one of the most popular condiments in America! Learn how to prepare and water bath can salsa using a recipe that has been tested and is safe for home canning. Fee: $25

Fermenting vegetables
Natural fermentation is one of the oldest means of food preservation. Learn the science of preparing and storing sauerkraut, kimchi and other fermented vegetables safely in this hands-on workshop. Fee $25
Thursday, September 12, 6—8 p.m.

Whole grain bread baking
Discover how simple and economical it is to make healthy whole grain breads from safely stored high-moisture dough. The workshop includes samples, recipes and tips for whole grain baking at altitude. Bring a 3-4 quart container for mixing dough to take home. Fee: $25
