As a director for Basecamp I have to provide a guest speaker every month. My theme for the first week in February was Super Bowl Week. So for my guest speaker I invited my son-in-law Joe Ahlbrandt who’s the vice principal of Fort Collins High School (Joe’s mother Arlene Ahlbrandt used to write articles for the North Forty News before she passed away in 2010). The Gold Football arrived at FCHS Thursday morning so Joe brought the Gold Football with him to surprise the children. We had no idea what would follow, with the NFL sending out 3,000 footballs and doing the pre-game pictures and stories about the Gold Footballs going out across the country my Basecamp kids were so very excited to say they got to hold the Gold Football. Thanks Joe!
