Larimer County will hold a fifth Roadmap to Recovery meeting with United Policyholders on navigating insurance for High Park and Woodland Heights Fire survivors. The workshop on Thursday, Dec. 13, takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the Hearing Room, 1st floor, Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building, 200 West Oak Street in Fort Collins.
The next Roadmap to Recovery meeting will focus on: (1) Mortgage issues, (including working with your lender to release insurance proceeds), and (2) The social-emotional side of coping with a catastrophic property loss. Guest speakers will talk about what helped them “heal and deal” with the emotional challenges of recovering from wildfires that destroyed their homes. A Q&A period and insurance interest group breakout sessions where you will have an opportunity to network with other fire survivors, will both follow the substantive presentation.
The meeting will feature United Policyholders’ Karen Reimus, Disaster Recovery Aid, Outreach and Education for United Policyholders, a non‐profit consumer organization assisting disaster survivors for over 20 years.
Portions of this meeting will be videotaped and made available at Larimer County’s High Park and Woodland Heights Fire web site after the meeting: http://larimer.org/highparkfire/. Videos of the previously held four Roadmap to Recovery meetings are now online, choose the ‘Public Mtgs./Updates/Events/Videos category at the web site. Additional recovery information is available on the web site including a free subscription sign-up for High Park and Woodland Heights Fire information updates and a place to list upcoming events.
