North Forty News receives top honors in Colorado Better Newspaper Contest

North Forty News received 25 awards and was judged to be among the top newspapers in Colorado at the annual Colorado Press Association awards banquet held Friday, Feb. 21 at the Westin Denver Downtown.

North Forty News received the award for General Excellence, the association’s highest honor, in the monthly division for excellence in advertising design, photo & layout design and editorial content. This is the second year in a row that the North Forty News has been recognized as one of Colorado’s best newspapers. Other 2013 award winners in the monthly category included the (Ignacio) Southern Ute Drum, (Lyons) Redstone Review and the (Denver) Life on Capitol Hill.

General Excellence award winners in the daily category included the Denver Post and the Durango Herald. The contest was judged by the Virginia Press Association.
