Poudre Fire Authority and Muscular Dystrophy Association team up to fight muscle disease – one rib at a time

The 5th annual Poudre Fire Authority Firefighters IAFF Local 1945 Rib Eating Contest will begin at noon on Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Texas Roadhouse, 4633 S. Timberline Rd. in Fort Collins.

The event is a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters, sponsors and local celebrities will be competing in a rib eating contest where contestants eat as many ribs as they can in two minutes. Citizens can enter the contest for a $25 donation to MDA. There will also be a kids contest for age 14 and under, with an entry fee of $10.

The PFA Safety House, Medivac and several emergency apparatus will be available for tours. K99 will be remote broadcasting during the day. Family entertainment will include face painting and several celebrity mascots and clowns. There will also be a live auction and silent auction to benefit MDA. Several firefighters will be guest waiters at the Roadhouse with all tips going to MDA.
