Weld and Larimer County families are welcome to join Colorado Parks and Wildlife and its partners for a full day of archery, fishing, shooting, and wildlife recreation at Colorado Youth Outdoors’ Swift Ponds in Fort Collins, June 9. This fun and educational event offers families a safe and comprehensive opportunity to try out the activities that drive our wildlife heritage.
This skills day will feature hands-on, safe training in multiple wildlife recreation activities. Participants will be divided into groups and have an hour and a half to work with seasoned instructors and experts in the various skills.
Opportunities at the event include:
• Target archery with 3-D targets and instruction.
• Spin casting/lure fishing with the Loveland Fishing Club
• Shooting clays with shotguns and BB gun shooting run by Pheasants Forever, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Colorado Youth Outdoors
• Learning about wildlife species of Colorado with Larimer County Department of Natural Resources
• Fly fishing from Rocky Mountain Flycasters
Door prizes will be given out at the end of the day, including wilderness recreation gear.
