On June 4 at 10 a.m., Pacific Auction Companies will be selling an eclectic collection of antiques. The collection has been on display for nearly 40 years at the famous Washington’s Bar and Grill, 132 LaPorte Ave., in downtown Fort Collins. Interested buyers can bid online now at www.pacificauction.com or attend the live auction.
If you need a howitzer cannon, 1800’s horse drawn hearse, miniature submarine or perhaps a radial airplane engine then this is the event for you. There is something for everyone in this collection of over 500 lots including rare railroad, ship and tobacco signs, horse drawn wagons and buggies, and, in case you were wondering, a full body mounted horse and mule. The building is filled to the rafters with fun and unusual collectibles.
Laporte Venue LLC, a New Bohemian venture, purchased the historic 1897 Washington’s building this spring, and plans to convert it into a mid-size music venue. The new music venue will keep the name Washington’s and will showcase Colorado artists as well as national acts. The venue is slated to open its doors in late 2017 or 2018.
