Obituary: Barbara J. Betts

Barbara J. Betts, 88, of Fort Collins passed away May 3. She was born November 10, 1923 to Sebastion and Margarita Kiefel in Napoleon, North Dakota. She was married to Roland Betts on November 24, 1945 in Hardin, Montana. He passed away in 1989.

Barbara was a homemaker and resided in Fort Collins since 1965. She has been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since the 1950’s and was a member of the church in Fort Collins since 1965.

Community Message

Barbara liked to spend her time fishing and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved her family and grandchildren very much and always cherished the time they spent together.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Carl (Mary) Betts of Longmont; Andy (Frances) Betts of Wellington; Murl Betts and Jeanna of Wellington; daughters, Margaret (Terry) Bath of Wellington; Betty Betts of Wellington; Ursula (Gene) Olsen of Eaton; brothers, Mike Kiefel of Grand Junction; and Mark Kiefel of California; sisters, Mary Powell of Brighton and Helen Byford of Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 10 a.m. at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1400 Lynnwood Drive in Fort Collins.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
