“Hanged by the neck until dead,” as the courts ruled. Folsom Prison executed a total of 93 inmates, occurring between 1895 and 1937. Written by local author April Moore, Folsom’s 93: The Lives and Crimes of Folsom Prison’s Executed Men will be the first book to profile in detail the lives and crimes of these men, as well as the lives of their victims.
April Moore became acquainted with these men when she was a child. Their mug shots sat tucked away in a closet at her great-great aunt’s house for over four decades.
In 2008, April began the task of researching each man, his crimes and his victims. The book covers 42 years, involves hundreds of people and takes place in a notorious prison. These fascinating stories deserve to be heard. This nonfiction book by Fort Collins’ own April Moore is available on Amazon. For more information, check out folsoms93.com.
