Become familiar with Old Town’s cultural treasure! Located at 200 W. Mountain Ave. is a non-profit dedicated to showcasing folk art from around the world. “This is the only international museum in Colorado,” says John Roberts, chair of the museum board of directors. Roberts’ travels have allowed him to collect a variety of art, jewelry and clothing intended to “teach people about the world.” Since its opening in April 2011, the Global Village Museum contains 4 galleries that are worth the visit. The Main Gallery has rotating exhibits and is currently showcasing “Camel Motel” or Caravanserai. The Mundoville Gallery contains a collection of international folk art miniatures. The Village Arts Gallery is home to world folk art and artifacts and the Hallway Gallery currently shows Faces of Fort Collins: Our Global Community. This museum participates in the First Friday Gallery Walk and also conducts an international story time for children every first Saturday. For more information, visit www.globalvillagemuseum.org
